TV VS Movie

Since I took an English course I have not much time to watch
I rarely watch television program, but every once a while I watch the late show David Letterman. I like his style and humor. I know there are many couch people all over the world since the television had been invented. While the kind of people are sitting in couch to watch TV, they eat potato. We also call them Couch Potato.

Most of people always say TV make them fell comfy and release stress. In my point of view, it is waste of time. If you spend several hours to watch the series program, you can do nothing every night in terms of reading a book, learning, listening music, watch movie.

TV program has its benefit infrequently. When I meet my friends now and then, they will talk about last night ‘s TV program. In this situation, I only can say “I have no idea about it, sorry.” Therefore, TV would be a good topic to communicate between friendships. TV is the most common measure in Society, though.

Nowadays, lots of people choose to watch DVD at home instead of seeing a movie at cinema. In the past, there are matinee that screened movie outside on daytime. I have never seen it in Macao. But when I was ten-year-old, I saw it a time. I was sitting on the ground. The move was a classical Chinese movie that about 72 families lived in a house. It was very interesting, indelible, unforgotten. You only take a little bucks for matinee in somewhere, in my countryside, It was entirely free for all. Now, there are no longer matinee will be screened, the village people love TV more than any entertainment.

I understand why TV is more popular then film. At first, TV is free for charge. Second, You can watch TV without thinking, it will tell you anything throughout the dialogues. But in film, you can find out something that you cannot imagine. Third, film is the eighth art, you would enjoy the music, photograph, fine arts, sculpture, fashion, etc.

I’m craving will be have a matinee in Macao on occasion. It’s my dream.

Moody Sunset

It was very wonderful, wasn’t it ? You can see how beautiful it was.

I decided to take picture for it after work. Coincidentally, Mr Chang had the same wish with me. He was going to pick the two photo cameras after work.
I stayed in UM until he came. When he arrived , We immediately drove to the seaside where we can shoot the Macao’s three bridges and coastwise landscape.

I like taking picture in the magic hour that could make your pictures have more gradation. You could see this picture has three levels including the foreground, the middle distance and the background. I especially love the blue color of background. If it is taken at night, I ensure you will not see the blue color instead of black.




Can you fell a few moody feelings in thes pictures? Althought I am not satisfied with the composition, I like the dense red color in the sky.

Red Picture

Do you believe religion? I am an atheist. These days I heard more information about Buddhism from my friends and my English teacher who are Buddhists.

I don’t know what did the monk do in that painting. Why his face was black?
He was a good person or bad?

There only were tow people in that painting, one was the monk, another was a women. I thought she was Kwan-yin. I eventually only took the little part of the full pictures because I liked the red color. It was very sharp.

Today 's afternoon, I found a nice background to take pictures—Culture Centre. The red banner is put on the steps. I like that kind of color. These pictures all were taken by Mr.Chang.
I was dancing like the girl in the banner. I thougt I was flying like a bird.

Am I a good model? I think they are very beautiful even I looked so fat in the pictures. How do you think?

Last night, I studed English until 3:am. I read some English website. One of website owner said that if you want to improve English, you must have motivation. You learn English because you must love it, not for homework As long as you continue to study over2 years, you will make progress.

Anderson and Landscape in the Mist

I woke up at 9:00. A beautiful weekend but I have to English class. Today, the teacher taught us about Immigration. He ask me which country would most want to move in.
I thought a moment. Actually, I had ever thought about this topic for myself.

Therefore, I mentioned Danmark. Why not is other county that I mentioned? Because of Anderson, who was Danmark ‘s fairy tale novelist. The teacher didn’t know more about Danmark. He always asked why didn’t have students to choose Canada. One of classmates wants to immigrant to USA .

In fact, I don’t like United State very much, but I admitted she is a melting pot. There have a lot of change to achieve your dreams. That’s why I want to study English in there.

After, I had another class about film. I was so tired so I didn’t go. Oh, I wasted my money once again. I slept from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. I thought it was very crazy. You know, that were 4 hours that I did nothing, just sleeping. I fell very regret.

Later on, I went out to have dinner with Mr.Chang. We went to eat Sushi. Tonight dinner cost $139. It was very expensive, thought.

After dinner, the most thing that I have to do every weekend is … watch movie.
We screened a Greek movie “Landscape in the Mist /Topio stin omichli” directed by Angelopoulos.. It was talking about life. I can hardly to say what is life. I was impressed by the filming. The director said “It is a journey which is the initiation into life. On the road the children learn everything - love and death, lies and truth, beauty and destruction.”

A very nice movie.

Woman Talk--About Love

MM: Hi, YY, We haven’t met for long / I haven’t seen you for long / It has been long since I last met you. How are you doing?
YY: So far so good. I just lost my love.

MM: What’s going on? I thought you are married with David.
YY: I hope/wish so. We had broken up three months ago.

MM: What was wrong with you and him?
YY: Had third person between us . She is my friend. I don’t think he would love her. I’m better then her, I guarantee, in any aspect. You know, she is just twenty years old, 20 less then him. It’s unbelievable. He is physically attached to her boy.

MM: That might be one of the problems that caused. Have you tried to find out the problems between you and solve them?
YY:I don’t think I have any problem on it. All are men’s problem.
MM: You’ve a strong character. You always want hem to follow you. You are the instructor.

YY: That’s my character. I can’t change it. If he loves me, he must bear / tolerate me.

Film Music

I attended a film course that held by Cultural Centre today. There were about fifty classmates. This was an accepted number for a film class in Macao, I though.

It was the second times of these courses . The topic was the music in film. The lecturer came from HK who is teaching film’s music in several universities in HK as a part lecturer.

She looked very young. She knows so much knowledge about music especially classical music. She taught us the music how’s important in film, even the music can be placed dialogues to say story.

Most of famous film director all over the world, they are crazing about music and know how to put music in a right scene of film such as Kieslowski, Krzysztof, Stanley Kubrick, Wong Kar Wai, etc.

In these directors that the lecture mentioned below, my best love is Kieslowski. I love him not only his story but the music. Kieslowski used to express the chance of fate, for instance, in the Blind Chance that was finished in 1987, he presented three different lives about the same man. The man got three chances for his lives when different things happened to him. Besides this one, Kieslowski also made many great films in his life. “Three colors’, “The Decalogue” and “the Double Life of Veronique”, etc , all are great films that he made.

The lecturer also introduced lots of composers and musician. After class, I really wanted to buy music CD according to her introduction but I did not have time tonight. Expecting to buy them next week .

Thought for The Da Vinci Code

I saw the film - the Da Vinci Code today. The film was not attractive. But I though many people would have shocked as it broke the tradition of faith in God. Why the people don’t want to believe the Jesus was a man but not a God? Why didn’t allow Jesus to get marry with a woman and then had a baby? I thought some people who believe the God, in their mind, they don’t trust a normal person would die for them. They only beleive God could do that.

I went to see the film with Ike. He also chose to believe the story even he is a Catholic. If the story were true, thus many people would have more freedom. The story raise women’s status. Women were not guilty. She could give a birth to baby for Jesus. It was a great mission, isn’t it ?

By the way, please be reminded that the couple, Jesus and Maria had a baby. It was very important that the baby was a girl. I thought if you were feminist, you would like this story very much.

I am not really like this film. I thought the book is better than the film. The director deleted a lot and the story was not interesting he did . Sometime I felt boring. However, I felt shocked in the end . What for? Maybe I am a feminist.

Talk for Da Vince code

Just came back from a talk relating to Da Vinci Code and its film. The speaker named Chan Yu, who is a film critic from Hong Kong. He always has his point of view in watching movie , and regularly focuses on sexual relationship whenever he watches any movie.

Just as tonight ‘s talk, even it was referring to Da Vinci Code, he also could find the sexual problem . This was very interesting.

Mr.Chan said most of gays group who believed in Jesus were attacked by the Da Vinci Code. In the past, the gays believed Jesus was bachelorism and never had his family, Since the book occurred , the tradition have been broken. They are confused how to support their choice in sex.

I believe the theory of evolution so that I often to doubt the Jesus whether existed in the world. I always to ask somebody who trust religion why would you have faith in God. Most of time I was not satisfied the answers.

I haven’t finished read the Da Vinci Code yet ,and haven’t watch the film. So I am not clearly realize what Mr Chan said about the details. I will go to see the movie on Sunday . I am expecting to see it . Hopefully I could understand it after watching.

Thought for Today

Today, me and MM ,Elaine went to Zhu Hai after work. We’d dinner at Yong Yong Curry Restaurant. It was a new one, decoration was better than old one. The food just ok, not made progress.

We talked a lot during the dinner, about friends ,what he/she has happened recently, also included love, work…

Every time we go out for dinner, at first, to reported what have been done newly. This is a nice way to keep friend relationship.

I spent a whole night outside. Therefore, I didn’t have enough time to read the fiction written by an American author John Cheever tonight. But I will try to finish one page before go to bed.

Today was a rainy weather. I sent an e-mail to Ike said it was depressed me. I don’t know why, emotion is hard to express just as hard to say why you suddenly love a man or woman.

Homoerotism Film

I’ve eventually finished the schedule of the coming screening in the Visual Cut Association. The theme will be the relationship between film and literature. It was so difficult to search the contents. In the end, I decided to choose some films that I really like. One of them is Farewell My Concubine(霸王別姬) made by a Chinese director, Chan Kai Ge. The actor in the film, Leslie Cheong, a HK film start passed away three years ago, is one of my favorites film actor. His suicide made me very upset. This film’s story is about homoerotism. I ‘m very interesting in this subject. Surely, this film wasn’t only this selling point. In my point of view, as long as the story is good, I would never care of the story whether homoerotism or normal relationship. We should open our mind to see anything.

Macau people

I was taken these pictures last Saturday for the photography class. The man was sitting on the little the chair who was selling the fruits. The old woman was collecting the abandon paper. Most of old women do this job. It can be made a little money for oldster to live. The other one I was taken from a old building. Why did I take it in this composition? I don’t know, cause I just wanted to try difference composition. Hope you like them.

New Grasses

I brought two grasses last week. One is for normal day, other is for sunny day. Their styles are so different. I like both. These pictures were taken by Mr.Chang. I think There are good mood in the pictures because of the poster “ In the mood for love”. Do you like it? I tell you I really like the movie.

I had a good time today

Now I’m listening to the film music of a Taiwan director Hsiao-hsien Hou. It is very comfortable and make me thinking of the films that I saw long time ago. I don’t why that it make me feel sad . Outside is raining. This kind of weather is better to stay at home. Just like now.

Today I did many things.In the morning, after I had breakfast, I searched some English information on the internet because I wanted to choose a nice school at Zhu Hai for me to learn English. It spent me three hours. In the afternoon, I went to Cut for the English Class between me and Ike.

That is my happy hour. I can talk English with Ike, especially we have the same topic – film. Besides, we also talk about what we like, what we do, what we think and what we want to do, as well as what we have been done before six days. I love the class very much. I’m expecting next time when the class is finished every time.

Today is special. Ike took me to his house. He showed me his favorite VCD. Some of them I ‘ve seen before, but still have a lot of films that I haven’t seen. Ike introduced his roommate and friends to me. They were very nice. Ike’s roommate also was an America guy, he had long hair with brown. He was so funny and he is conversant with Religion, such as Protestant,Buddhism, Confucius ,Zhuang Zi. I think he looked like the Jesus. Ike was agreed with me.

And the other America guy who was a very young handsome boy. He will be leaving Macau to Beijing with his beautiful girl friend who came from Malaysia. The boy wanted to be a actor in America but he didn’t want to study film in his country. Therefore, he will choose to study film in the Beijing Film Academy. I’m so jealousy of him. I wanted to study a film for four year but I didn’t have enough money.

Ann was Chinese,a strong girl who was born in Sweden. She will stay in Macau for four months for her summer course. She loves to play martial art very much. She had been Thailand for a period time to study the martial art before. After, she went to Beijing and then she came to Macau. One hand she studies her course, on the other hand, she will play the martial art. Ann can speak Cantonese but the tone was like a foreigner.

For farewell the lovers, Ike suggested that we went out for a dinner. Originally, he recommend to have hot-pop, at the end they changed to eat Italy food. The food was delicious. I had a great time tonight even I was not really know what they said. They were joking all the time It made me very happy. I hope that I would have chance to meet with the “Jesus” in the future.

I was thinking of Beijing constantly while we talking in their apartment .The scene I have seen it before. I remembered the time that I studied in Beijing Film Academy. That was a good time I never forget it. Ail’s tone made me thinking of Shing pooi . I haven’t given her a call for a long time. I will call her when I find out the address book.

I can do that

I don’t know why I always feel tired.
I do want to have some quota of sell-will as Ah Fa.
Even I am not young but I still have passion for overlying that I love.
We can not control others what they do but I can control myself.
We don’t know what other people do, so we have “to live carefully and attentively.”
I treat everyone with genuine. In some situation, I have to pretend for protecting myself. I never to do immoral things for power, money, materials…
I think one of the most important in life is how to live in satisfying.
I am often not satisfied with anything, such I cannot earn a lot of money, to possess a big house, to have an ideal job…
Actually, above just are not really what I want even if I always say that.
I am getting confused about my future. I love film but my job is absolutely unconcerned with it. That is the truth of Macau. We don’t have the marketing of film, if you want to have a good developing in this field, you must go to HK or China to seek a chance for yourself.
Once I want to stay in Beijing where has a big market for film-marker to achieve their film dream.
For your dream, you have to abandon your warm home, lover, friends, stable life…
And then to start afresh another life.
I chose to come back eventually because no bravely to accept the challenge.
I believe that I stay in Macau also can change my life throughout hard-working.
I promised myself I must to finish a short film in this year. I only have six months for me to achieve my promise. I ensure I can do that.
