Dear Harrison’s Mammy,
How do you do ? Even we don’t know each other and ever met before, but I know your information from your son ,Harrison. He told me yesterday, he sent this blog’s link to you. I was very happy you said my English was not so bad. Thank you very much for your encouragement. Please don’t hesitate to correct my mistake in writing. I know I still have lots of room to improve it. And I know Rome was not built in one day. So I am doing my best to improve it.
You son taught me a lot in this year. I appreciate him as well as Ike very much. You may be know who is Ike but I think Harrison should have told you about Ike. Ike is your son’s roommate. They have different philosophy, value and custom. In my point of view, they never can accept each other because of the “culture difference”, although they came from the same country.
Harrison tells me all the time, he should be a Chinese instead of a American. He is right. He knows Chinese culture even more then most Chinese. That’s why I like to talk with him every week. Personally, I also hope to talk with him and to drink his excellent tea every day. How nice he is!
Harrison also told me, you are a biologist. You quitted you job in the university and created an institute for the biology religion. Even thought it only has three members but you still have strong will to run it. I hope I can meet you someday or you can come to Macao to visit Harrison and me. Chinese has a saying: Fate brings people together no matter how far apart they may be. It was our fate that I could meet Harrison. So I believe that you and me will meet each other someday.
I am looking forward to seeing you.
Your faithfully
Ella

Wow ella! Thats a really nice post!
Thanks, Stanley, I haven't see you guy for a long time. How are you?
will you come to join our tea gathering next time?
looking forward to seeing you again.
Dear Ella,
I feel very honored to have a person in Macau write to me on a blog! Wow!
You are so amazing!
I haven't been able to read your blog lately because my computer broke. I can only be online two times a day, when I borrow my friend's computer. But I am so glad I checked your blog today! Thank you for writing me!
I think Harrison's soul is Chinese. He began to study Chinese literature when he was still a child. I think he was only 10 years old when he began to study a little English copy of the Tao de Ching that I had from a class I took in college. I miss him very much, but I know he is happiest in China and I want him to be happy more than anything. I'm so glad he has a friend like you there! And to talk to you -- one of his friends -- makes me feel a little more like maybe he isn't really so far away.
Macau must be a very beautiful place. Before my computer broke, I got a picture from Harrison that was in your newspaper there, on the night of the full moon when there were lanterns in the city. It made me feel a little bit of what it must be like there. On the night of that full moon here, we had a heavy frost. Two days later, we had our first hard freeze. I guess it is so warm there in Macau that you might not have learned the English words "frost" and "freeze" but poor Harrison will remember them from when he lived in America. (He did not like the cold!) We have already had snow, but today we are supposed to get our first big snowstorm of the winter. The weather forecast says we will have 3 inches of it on the ground before morning. But then tomorrow it is supposed to warm up enough to melt it all away. I'm glad! I'm not ready for winter yet!
Your step-friend,
Dawn, Harrison's Mom :-D
Dear Auntie,
I just came back from Harrison’s home. Tonight we were very happy. We had a nice talk. It is very sorry that I replied you so late. Macao is still very hot. Harrison loves this kind weather very much. But his roommate hates it very much. So different they are.
I treated Harrison as a Chinese. I don’t think he is an American. I hope he can love here for a long time and the best is to be our citizen. I hope so. And then we can talk forever. HaHa
Anyway, thank you for your encourage and reply.
